I started off this project by creating a few collages just based on what I felt from listening to this song. Yaelokre's music in general has a very earthy and mystical feel about it so I wanted to incorporate that into the design I ultimately came up with.
I chose one of the collages and went on to create a full costume design for it, choosing to make a complete story surrounding the lead singer as Yaelokres music has a lot of story elements in it and so I wanted to lean into that. I created a full turnaround for the costume to get a better sense of how the pieces would actually go together.
Masks are a very commonly used trait in Yaelokres music and fashion sense so I wanted to incorporate that into the design. I also chose to stay completely in Yaelokre's iconic color pallet of desaturated greens and yellows.
